Luigi Mondi

Hey readers! My name is Luigi Mondi. I am a 27 year old millennial from Long Island, NY, working in NYC as a digital/social media advertising professional. I am also gay (he/him). As a contributor to “The Queer Compilation,” I will be writing about the LGBTQ+ experience in the 21st century, sharing my point of view on everything from acknowledging my sexuality, to coming out, and the intersection of other health issues and being LGBTQ+.

I think it’s important for me to also acknowledge that although I am gay, my existence as a white male means that my perspective comes from a place of privilege. Being a part of a minority community has helped me to be more mindful to the fact that our society is not structured to benefit everyone equally. Every day, I’m examining my perspective of our society and working towards making my worldview more intersectional by listening to and sharing the stories of people from different backgrounds. It is my goal to ensure that my writing doesn’t whitewash the LGBTQ+ experience of those who aren’t white gay men.

In my free time you can fine me obsessively tweeting, stanning for Beyoncé, and voraciously consuming all forms of media from movies and television to blogs and articles.
