Naomi Cunningham

I have been a community health educator for over eight years, providing sex education and breast cancer awareness outreach in underserved communities of color. I am an adjunct professor at SUNY Old Westbury in the Community Action Learning and Leadership program, and I manage PPNC’s Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention program. My interest in sex education began in high school when I realized that the abstinence-only curriculum provided in health classes was biased, culturally insensitive and ineffective. When I'm not running around Long Island and changing the world, I lounge on the beach at my home in Rockaway Park.
